You bought a garment
with this label on it?
That means you can be sure it's a quality item made right here in Australia by someone who earned a fair wage in decent conditions
Experience:
I studied Dress Design at East Sydney, which I believe is still one of the best fashion schools in Australia. Before arriving at Cue I had worked at Weiss, another iconic Australian brand who were the first to produce designer corporate uniforms with Ansett and Westpac. I have now worked at Cue for 20 years and over this time have seen the tremendous growth the company has experienced. Whilst being at Cue I have also worked on Veronika Maine and the letter Q.
Skilled at:
I have a good eye for proportions and flowing lines. Patterns I love doing are beautifully fitting dresses from figure hugging day dresses to the party dresses with boning and tulle, I also specialize in item jackets.
Why did you choose to work in fashion / textiles?
My mother was in the industry, I loved sewing and was always drawing, designing and making clothes.
Best thing about the job?
The excitement of working with the Cue Design team to create the right silhouette and perfecting each design, then following the production of that garment all the way to working with the makers to ensure the highest quality end product. I love to then also follow the success of that style in store to see if it’s a winner!
Favorite item of clothing?
The Cue Floral Print Dress – sold exclusive to Cue Westfield this two-toned printed dress with a tie at the back looks good on everyone.
Best designer ever:
I’ve worked with many designers over a lot of years, though Prue Rainey, the Head Designer at Cue is the most talented and creative I have ever worked with. Armani is an international designer that I am inspired by, his clean lines and impeccable tailoring.
